iPod to PC

Here’s a quick guide to protect your content from being deleted by iTunes if you have added music and video to your player from a computer other than the one you originally used to set it up.

If you would prefer to read this tutorial rather than download and watch the videos then please click here.

1) Prevent your iPod / iPhone / iPad from syncing automatically with iTunes on your home computer.

This is VERY important and failure to do this will result in all your music and video not stored on your home iTunes library being deleted.

2) How to copy music, video and playlists from your iPod to your PC.

The program used in this video can be downloaded for free from the Sharepod site

If you’ve got any questions or want help contact us here or leave a comment in the box below.

Please note (not relevant for iPhones) that when you add content from more than one computer using iTunes your iPod settings in iTunes need to be changed, so that the “Manually manage music and videos” box is checked. This will stop your iPod automatically syncing.  To learn more about this click here.

Remember: An iPod can easily be dropped or damaged. Always back up!
